Our Mission

The Association of New York State Youth Bureaus (ANYSYB) is a unified statewide resource and support system that professionally  develops and advocates for local Youth Bureaus.

The goal of this site is to help you learn more about our members, Youth Bureaus and the Association, to provide our members up-to-date information on training, funding opportunities and advocacy, to provide links and knowledge regarding other youth development groups and organizations, and most of all to promote the well-being and positive youth development of all youth in the State of New York.

Collective Voices Speak up for Children, Youth, and Families throughout New York State

Board Members of the Association of New York State Youth Bureaus teamed up to represent over 1.3 million youth served statewide through county, city, town and village youth bureaus and their contracted organizations at the Association’s Annual Legislative Day.

They highlighted the value of Positive Youth Development afterschool, summer, and year-round programs that focus on issues such as academics, recreation, mentoring, mental health supports, juvenile justice prevention/intervention, leadership, civic engagement, and family empowerment.

Funding through the Youth Bureau system includes the Youth Development Program and Runaway Homeless Youth funding categories.

Board Members were able to meet with the following offices who listened as they shared concerns, expressed appreciation, and spoke out on behalf of children, youth, and families:

Governor Cuomo’s office and State Department of Budget, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins office, Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi – Chair Children and Families, Senator Brisport Chair of Committee on Children And Families, Assemblywoman Rosenthal – Chair of Social Services, and staff from Senate Program & Counsel/Finance; Assembly Program & Counsel, and the Assembly Ways & Means.
